Police from the 114th Precinct in Astoria were looking for a man who allegedly assaulted a 45-year-old woman at the 36th Street/Northern Boulevard R subway station in Long Island City last month.

The NYPD released video of the suspect, who approached the woman just before 7 p.m. on Jan. 19, and punched the woman in the head as she was reading a subway map before fleeing, police said. The victim sustained bruising to the back of her head, hand an ear in the attack, according to the NYPD.

Police described the suspect as between 25 to 30 years-old and clean shaven with an average build. He was last seen wearing a knit hat and a scarf.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
