A 40-year-old homeless man was found dead Saturday morning in Long Island City.

Police from the 108th Precinct, responding to a 911 call of an unconscious man in the vicinity of 34th Street and Queens Boulevard, discovered Ivan Avilla unresponsive with no apparent signs of trauma, according to the NYPD.

EMS responded and transported Avilla to Elmhurst Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Medical Examiner has yet to determine the cause of death and the investigation was ongoing.

Avilla’s death comes five days after another homeless man was found dead at Thomas P. Noonan playground on Greenpoint Avenue and 43rd Street in Sunnyside.
