Police searching for suspect who robbed Jamaica grocery store

Police were searching for a suspect who allegedly stole $600 from a supermarket in Jamaica.

The NYPD said the robbery occurred at Nandan Mini Supermarket & Halal Meat Store, located at 97-01 Sutphin Blvd., last Sunday at 4 p.m.

According to authorities, the suspect entered the store and approached a 62-year-old male counter person demanding cash.

The suspect took the money from the cash register and fled the scene on foot, according to the NYPD.

Authorities described the suspect as a black male who is approximately 50 years old, 6 feet tall and 260 pounds.

The suspect was last seen on surveillance footage wearing a dark blue jacket with black on the shoulders, and a small round patch on the right arm, police said. He was also wearing acid wash jeans, and has a beard with a white patch on his chin.
