If 2016 was the year Queens was named the No. 1 tourist destination in the U.s. — thanks Lonely Planet guidebooks, wherever your are — then 2017 will likely be remembered as the year real-estate developers discovered the borough is an awful nice place to live. From a new airport to a thousands of new apartments in Western Queens and Flushing, building projects in Queens seemed to be taking off at a neck-snapping speed this year. Grab a shovel, if you want ot fit in in 2018.
