A Forest Hills man was struck by unknown vehicle Thursday night just minutes away from his home and was later found dead on the road in a hit-and-run, according to the NYPD.

Thomas Kelly, 47, was spotted on the left turn lane of southbound Woodhaven Boulevard, just north of Metropolitan Avenue within the confines of the 104th Precinct, authorities said.

Once police arrived they saw Kelly was unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to his head and body, according to the NYPD.

EMS reached the scene and took the victim to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined Kelly’s injuries were the result of his being struck by a vehicle and said the operator of the car fled the location prior to the police’s arrival.

This was an ongoing investigation and no arrests had been made.
